Wizard docs

Wizard is the Holdex GitHub app and the web app at wizard.holdex.io. It asks for time on pull requests, attributes bugs to the commits that caused them, prepares monthly invoices, keeps Goals and their specs in shape, and books meetings from your Google Calendar. You talk to it with @holdex comments on GitHub issues and pull requests.

Pick the description that fits you. Each list is in the order you will need the pages. Pages marked with a lock in the sidebar need you to sign in with GitHub, and some are for Holdex team members only. If a page asks you to sign in or turns you away, see Sign in to Wizard.

Contributors

You work on Holdex or client repositories and invoice Holdex every month.

Your first month as a contributor: a checklist of everything below, in order.
Fill in your profile: the details Wizard needs before it can prepare your invoice.
Submit time on a pull request: the time comment Wizard posts on every PR you open.
Report and dispute bugs: what happens when a fix: PR traces a bug back to your commit.
Submit your monthly invoice: what arrives on the 1st of the month and what to do with it.
How your payout is calculated: bug hours, the hours cap, expenses and charges.
Request leave: book time off through your HR repo.
Compensation, Expense policy and Leave policy: how pay, expenses and days off work.
Contributing guidelines: where to start with the rules.
Use the notifications board: open work across every organization, in the team's priority order.
Developer rules: the DEV-* rules for planning, PRs and review. Team members only.

Project leads

You own Goals, write specs and decide what the team works on next.

Write a Goal: the sections Wizard expects in a Goal description.
Spec files and Google Docs: the spec file Wizard creates and how it graduates into the docs.
Use the notifications board: managers set the shared priority order there.
Commands: set ETAs and create spec documents from a comment.

Sales

You book calls with prospects and post on social media.

Share a booking link: let a contact pick a time from your live calendar.
Reserve slots for an Attio contact: hold a few times for one contact and let them pick.
Post Typefully links to Telegram: what happens when a Typefully draft is published.
Sales team mapping: who can create GitHub issues from the browser extension and Telegram.

HR and billing

You onboard people, approve leave and expenses, and check what each client costs.

Member and admin commands: onboard members and clients from a comment.
Planned member offboarding: request a roster PR and editable checklist once enabled in your environment.
Run a cost breakdown: hours and cost by organization, repository and type of work, for a date range.
Write an Order Form: the file Wizard reads to work out what a Client's delivery costs.
Charges: deduct a negligence cost from a contractor's payout.
Leave policy (leave.yaml): entitlements and overrides per member.
Team members list: who Wizard treats as a team member.

Org admins

You install Wizard on a GitHub organization and decide which rules apply there.

Install Wizard on an organization: add the GitHub App and choose the repositories it watches.
Whitelist and time tracking rules: turn off time tracking or Goal validation for an organization.
Project tracker attachment: give the organization its own tag in the Project Tracker.
Spec document folders: the Google Drive folder for the organization's spec documents.
