Install Wizard on an organization

This page is for the GitHub organization owner who adds Wizard to a Holdex or client organization.

Install the app

1. Open the Holdex GitHub App and click Install (or Configure if it is already installed somewhere).
2. Pick the organization.
3. Give it access to the repositories Wizard should watch. Repositories left out get no time comments, no Goal checks and no bug notices.

Wizard starts on the next event in those repositories. Nothing needs to be deployed.

What changes for the team

Once installed, Wizard:

• posts a time comment on every pull request, unless the organization is excluded in the whitelist;
• checks Goal and Draft Goal descriptions and creates their spec files, as described in Write a Goal;
• posts a bug report checklist on fix: pull requests, as described in Report and dispute bugs;
• answers @holdex commands in issue and pull request comments;
• shows the organization's open work on the notifications board to people who can open its repositories.

Settings a maintainer changes for you

These live in the Wizard repository, so a Wizard maintainer makes the change in a pull request.

• Whitelist and time tracking rules: turn off time tracking or spec checks for the organization.
• Project tracker attachment: give the organization its own tag in the Project Tracker.
• Spec document folders: the Google Drive folder for the organization's spec documents.

A new client

A manager runs @holdex client onboard on the client's Client card. It creates the client's private repository and, given --org, records the client's GitHub organization, or opens a Problem to install Wizard there when Wizard cannot reach it yet. See client onboard in Commands.
