Browser extension

The Wizard browser extension adds Holdex shortcuts and checks to GitHub and Telegram Web. It runs in Chrome and Firefox.

Install

  1. Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store or from Firefox Add-ons.
  2. Check that it is listed and enabled on your browser's Extensions page.
  3. Ask one of the organization managers for a connection key. It authorizes your access to Holdex services.
  4. Open the extension popup and enter the key in the settings section.

The extension does nothing until the connection key is set.

On GitHub

Issues and Goals

  • Goal checks: warns when a Goal is missing the Goal: title prefix, the Goal issue type, or an ETA once assigned, and when the ETA is past due.
  • Problem checks: warns when a Problem is missing the Problem: title prefix, or has no parent issue whose title starts with Goal: or HR:. The warning links to open Goals and HR issues.
  • Create Google Doc: a button in the header of Goal and Draft Goal issues. It creates a Google Document and adds its URL under # Stakeholders Interview. It does not change the # Spec link. The button shows Creating... until Wizard finishes.
  • Calendar event: create a Google Calendar event from an issue in one click, with the issue details filled in and your local time zone.

Projects

  • See which projects an issue belongs to across organizations, with links, kept up to date as projects change.
  • Add an issue to a tracked project in one click.
  • Save up to 3 boards in the popup, pick a default board, and open saved boards from the GitHub header.

People and workload

  • Username links next to names in comments and issue and PR headers:
    • team members get links to their assigned Goals (🎯), open pull requests (🚀) and HR issue (💬), with counts beside 🎯 and 🚀;
    • people outside the team get a [not a member] link to the Holdex HR repository;
    • the Holdex bot gets a [read docs] link to the commands.
  • Team Workload dropdown: each member's Goals and open pull requests, sorted by Goals and ETAs. N ⊘ shows Goals that are not on "Team Board (Holdex Oracle)", and only appears when there are any.

Comments and subscriptions

  • Comment buttons: "Resolved" and "Off-topic" hide a comment with that classifier, and "Delete" removes it permanently.
  • Subscriptions: subscribe to all events of an issue or pull request, or only to Closed, Reopened or Merged, with an indicator of what you follow. The extension keeps your subscription on GitHub and on the notifications board the same, both ways, from any open github.com tab.

On Telegram Web

These work in web.telegram.org/k and web.telegram.org/a.

  • Create Deal and Attach Deal buttons in group chat headers, and Open in Attio once a deal is linked.
  • Quick task creation.
  • Create a GitHub issue from a group chat: pick the organization and repository, then fill in the title and body. Only people listed in the sales team mapping can do this.

The telegram-sales-automation service account must be a member of the group chat. If you see group_resolve_failed, invite the service account to the chat first.

Permissions

  • storage: saves your preferences and project information.
  • tabs: messaging between tabs, the side panel context, and related automation.
  • sidePanel (Chrome only): the side panel. Firefox has no side panel.
